Russia – Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel produced 8.1pct more steel from January to February

Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) produced 1.87 million tones of steel from January to February period, representing an increase of 8.1 percent from the same period a year earlier, the MMK press service informed.

The production ore for the reporting period rose 2.7 percent to 241.1 thousand tones, the agglomerate output climbed 4.3 percent to 1.75 million tones. It was also produced 918.2 thousand tones of coke (+6.9pct), 1.58 million tones of iron ore (+11pct), 1.7 million tones of metal products (+9pct).

The export share in the structure of metal output shipment over the first two months lowered 4.4 percent to 52.1 percent. In February the export share amounted to 50.9 percent.
