"World magnesium demand and supply could keep low level through 2010 under slow automobile demand," Greg Patzer, executive VP of International Magnesium Association, said.
He added that Chinese magnesium refineries, which represent 80% of the world supply, currently operate at 20% to 30% of the capacity.
