Hyundai Steel dominated the 2009 trend of S.Korea HRC market and steel industry forecasted Hyundai Steel would initially lift price this year. Hyundai Steel HRC sales center said the company would hike HRC price in March or April.

For this, Hyundai Steel stated the rising of scrap steel price brought certain cost pressure, but after blast furnaces put into production this year, its burden decreased.

POSCO expects Hyundai Steel to hike prices firstly. POSCO has been not active to adjust price and presently POSCO plans to follow Hyundai Steel to adjust price. Steel industry believed that the HRC price tendency will be unveiled in March.
