Workers at Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry ended their strike but did not win a successor clause that would protect their jobs and benefits if the company were sold.
Scott Keehan is president of the Glass, Molders, Pottery, Plastics & Allied Workers union Local 301. He tells Action 2 News the Steelworkers Local 125 reached an agreement on a proposal that does not contain a successor clause, and voted Wednesday to return to work.
Steelworkers Local 125 has 360 workers at the plant, whereas Local 301 has 38 workers, and ten of them are laid off, Keehan said.
Keehan said the company also planned on Friday to explore hiring replacements.
Given those factors, Local 301 workers voted to accept an offer from the company, which also does not contain a successor clause.
