MONAX Mining's has provided an update on its continuing exploration for manganese on its Waddikee project located in central Eyre Peninsula, South Australia.
The company's partner for the project, OM Holdings initially explored the region in 2009 with geological mapping, ground magnetic surveying, and an orientation geochemical sampling program at the Jamieson Tank prospect.
This revealed five separate manganese horizons, which appeared to have strong stratigraphic relationship with ironstone and chert.
"An orientation geochemical sampling program was undertaken to investigate the best sampling media for detecting manganese mineralisation under cover," Monax managing director Gary Ferris says.
According to MONAX Mining, it will continue the exploration in order to further investigate the extent of manganese mineralisation, targeting for an RC drilling program to commence in May.
