Steel producer AK Steel said on Monday that the company will increase spot market base prices by $60 per ton on all new orders for its carbon steel products with immediate effect.

In addition the company has its increased zinc coating extras for its galvanized steel products.

According to AK Steel the price increase is in response to increased demand for carbon steel products, as well as the need to recover higher costs.
