AK Steel said Monday, Jan. 12, it has increased prices for new orders of its carbon steel products, effective immediately.

The company in a news release said it raised spot market base prices by $60 per ton. Higher demand for carbon steel and the need to recover costs prompted the price increase, the company said in a news release.

The company also said it has raised zinc coating extras for its galvanized steel products.
