Indium prices in Shanghai rose 5 per cent from a week earlier due to renewed buying interest while the raw material supply remained tight, traders said on Friday.
Prices of indium, a key ingredient in liquid crystal display screens for televisions and computers, rose to 2,950 to 3,050 yuan ($ 432.1- 446.6) a kg, up 5 per cent on the week. Indium prices in London were last quoted at $ 465 a kilogram, up $ 25 from a week earlier.
Raw material crude indium was still tight in supply, as producers were unwilling to sell stocks, betting on a further price rally, analysts said.
