China to levy lower tariff on imported coal and other resources

It is learned from Ministry of Finance that checked by Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council, and got the approval of State Council, since January 1, 2010, China will further adjust import&export tariff laws, mainly covering most-favorable-country tariff, agreement rate, preferential tax rate and tariff lines and other aspects.

To promote the economy structural adjustment, intensify the energy-saving and environmental protection and adapt to the economy and society developing demand, in 2010, China will launch the lower import tax on more than 600 products, including coal, granite, phosphorite ore, celestite and others.

Meanwhile, in 2010, China will continue imposing export tariff on petroleum, rare earth, steel billet at the temporary tariff.

To expand the bilateral and multilateral economic and trade cooperation, in 2010, China will launch more favorable tariff on products from ASEAN's 10 countries, Chile, Pakistan, New Zealand, S. Korea. Meanwhile, China will continuously implement the preferential tariff on products from 41 the most developed countries such as Laos, Ethiopia
