Dannemora Mineral, the Swedish iron ore miner listed on the OMX First North exchange, has signed an agreement with Austrian steel company Voestalpine for the delivery of around 10,000 tons of iron ore products.
The ore will be shipped from the port of Hargshamn and delivered to Voestalpine's iron ore storage facility in Rotterdam. Full-scale trial production is scheduled to take place around the turn of the year in one of Voestalpine's blast furnaces in Linz when the Dannemora ore's properties will be assessed combined with other ores.
Danneomora is an emerging mining operation with big plans to bring the historic Dannemora mine back into production. At full capacity, the mine is expected to achieve annual production of 1.5 million tons of iron ore products. Production is scheduled to start during summer 2011, with full capacity expected in the second half of 2012.
