Discovery Metals confirms sufficient water resources at Boseto copper project

Mining group Discovery Metals has confirmed that the groundwater resources at its 100% owned Boseto copper project in Botswana are more than sufficient to meet the processing and other operational needs at the site.

The water resources planned for use at Boseto are contained within two of five potential groundwater resource areas identified during a water exploration programme. That programme was undertaken as part of the bankable feasibility study on the project.

Discovery Metals' managing director, Brad Sampson, said the results were “an important milestone” for the Boseto project.

“A water resource has been identified with capacity to more than meet the project's operational requirements, thus eliminating a key project risk,” he said. “In addition, we have now demonstrated that neither the life nor scale of the project is likely to be constrained by water supply.”
