Copper prices up 1 pct on renewed economic hope

Investors encouraged by upbeat econ data, oil price surge
* Prices ahead of fundamentals, bullish sentiment remains

Copper prices rose nearly 1 percent in both Shanghai and London on Tuesday, as the improving outlook for the global economy and a surge in oil prices boosted sentiment, but fundamentals may still lag prices.

Data on Monday showed that Japanese industrial output rose for the third month in a row, and euro zone economic confidence is improving.
