Norwegian aluminium group Norsk Hydro has appointed Hilde Aasheim to head its Aluminium Metal division, Hydro said on Thursday.

Aasheim, age 49, will succeed Thorstein Dale Sjoetveit on the management board, Norsk Hydro ASA said in a statement.

Aasheim returns to Norsk Hydro from StatoilHydro where she has headed the integration following Statoil's acquisition of Norsk Hydro's oil and gas operations in 2007.

She joined Norsk Hydro as an executive vice president for leadership and culture in 2005 after holding a number of senior management positions at metals group Elkem.
