Gippsland increases Abu Dabbab resource by 11 pct to 44.5 mln tonnes

Gippsland Ltd. said new diamond drilling at its Abu Dabbab project has resulted an 11 percent global resource increase to 44.5 million tonnes, from 40 million tonnes.

The company said 73 percent, or 32.5 million tonnes, of the resource was now categorised as measured and indicated.

It added the global tantalum pentoxide grade has increased to 250g/t, from 243g/t. Gippsland also said in the statement that its tin grade had increased.

Executive chairman Jack Telford said: "The drilling programme has been an outstanding success despite delays caused by the industry-wide problem of assay laboratory back-logs." – Thomson Financial
