AK Steel Holding Corp. said Monday it will increase spot prices for its carbon-steel products by $150 per ton for new orders.

The change is effective immediately.

The steel company said the increase is necessary to recover high steel costs and will be supported by strong demand.

AK Steel shares rose 98 cents to $62 in premarket trading. – AP
