AK Steel Holding Corp. said Monday it will increase spot market prices for its carbon steel products by $50 per ton for all new orders, effective immediately.

AK Steel said the price increase comes with increased demand for carbon steel products, as well as higher costs for material used to make carbon steel.

AK Steel shares rose $3.31, or 6.4 percent, to $54.79 in morning trading. – AP
